Life changing? You may ask skeptically–is this one of those deals that sounds too good to be true? As I’ve stated regarding my writings in the past–take what you like and leave the rest–you decide.
Several days ago, one of my healer providers shared a new concept she thought could prove beneficial as I continued to deal with an old knee injury that has been healing way too slowly for my liking. This concept is based on the Law of Attraction which I discovered through a 2006 groundbreaking documentary and book called “The Secret”–very powerful!
The Law of Attraction is the belief that positive or negative thoughts bring positive or negative experiences into our lives. The belief is based on the idea that people and their thoughts are both made of pure energy, and that through the process of like energy attracts like energy we can improve our health, wealth, and personal relationships through the use of positive affirmations.
However, back in the late 90’s a seminary student, Noah St. James admitted, “Every self-help book I’d ever read had told me to just repeat these positive statements over and over, until I believed them. The problem was, they weren’t working for me at all” and he felt there had to be a better way or a missing piece to this puzzle.
The “Bible” states: Ask and ye shall receive. According to Noah, he felt we actually have not been taught well how to ask for what we want other than prayer. And that was the epiphany he experienced in the shower that morning–why not ask in a question form–allowing God and the Universe to respond in kind? He called these positive Afformations. Here’s the difference:
Positive Affirmations are statements of something that we want to be true–positive statements like: I am happy, I am wealthy, I am successful.
Positive Afformations are empowering questions that immediately change our subconscious thought patterns that begin simply with the word “why”: Why am I so confident? Why am I enough? Why am I so successful? Wow, for me, just stating it differently feels like a positive energy shift–I feel as if I’m releasing something and allowing God and the Universe to find the answers to my why questions (which I/we don’t have to answer, by the way).
Because this is a shift in our inner and outer self talk, it may take some diligence to reframe our newly-stated intentions. And repetition helps get these new Afformations into our being/DNA.
As we’re formulating our new Afformations, it’s important to keep them positive by eliminating don’t and not words–which may draw more negativity.
Let’s ask ourselves what we really, really want. It’s true: We can’t get where we want to go in life if we don’t know where that is. Let’s ask ourselves, “If time or money were no object, what would I love to be, do, or have?” Noah says if the answer doesn’t frighten us a little, we may not be asking big enough!
Action Steps may be required: just because we’ve made our new Afformations, that doesn’t mean we get to kick back on our laurels and wait for things to change in our favor–let’s move forward as we feel lead to make it happen as well.
Since his discovery, Noah St. John has taught thousands of people around the world how to attract more abundance using his proven, step-by-step “Afformations System”, his seminars, and with his book titled “Afformations”. Plus, there’s a free “Best Afformations” App where one can find quick-start lists of afformations grouped in different issue categories for convenience.
I’m finding that using Afformations is opening my eyes to new opportunities that I haven’t seen before (which is very exciting), plus my knee feels better in this short time, too (yippy). There seem to be unlimited possibilities for all of us. I’ll keep you updated with my Afformation experience.
Noah states in his book that this isn’t magic or hocus-pocus. It’s what happens when we know what we want out of life and remind ourselves consistently with positive why questions.
