I love, love that word “transformational” (i.e. groundbreaking, innovative, cutting edge)– especially when it comes to self improvement options. When it comes to Noah St. James Afformations discovery–I’ve found it super enlightening and empowering.
NO Hocus Pocus here! Initially, I was a bit skeptical as you may be, but the simple concept of putting positive thoughts out to God and the Universe to attract positive results in our lives–what’s not to love? These books: the “Secret”, “Think & Grow Rich”, “The Power”, and “Afformations” offer proof of this theory of self actualization and the fact that Thoughts are Things.
As part of the feedback I’ve received since my last article, one friend admitted she wasn’t sure how to use this principle in her life, so I offer the following:
Affirmations & Afformations – What’s the Difference?
Affirmations Examples:
“I am attracting the right people into my life”
“I am losing weight”
“I am sleeping soundly and peacefully.
These are all statements, and even though these may not feel true, you must say them (either aloud or to yourself) as if they are already happening, as if you already have these things and put yourself into the state of mind you would be in if you had these things. What would you feel, where would you be, how would your life be, working through this process is an example of practicing Affirmations.
Afformation Examples:
“WHY am I always attracting the right people into my life”
“WHY am I so easily losing pounds and inches”
“WHY am I sleeping so soundly and peacefully”
Empowering questions focus our mind on what we have, what we can do and who we are. The answers to empowering questions produce feeling of positive self-worth, ultimately leading us to our empowering partnership options with God and the Universe.
Remember, while developing positive Afformations, eliminate negative words (i.e. don’t, not)–let’s draw positive results.
Real-life Examples:
Personally, I’m continuing to experience much less knee pain– rising from my chair or walking stairs by stating “Why am I moving with ease?” and guess what–improvement continues! Plus, I’m sleeping much better (“Why am I sleeping so soundly”). Another yippy!
My future daughter-in-law shared: “I have been working to incorporate Afformations into my life since learning about them after we recently spoke. I know we talked about the “why” words to help me find the perfect tenants to rent my condo (i.e. ‘Why have I found the perfect tenant for my condo’) and I think I found them last night! I met just an adorable and kind older couple that would like to rent it fully furnished! How awesome when you start transforming worry into focusing on the positive and putting it out to God and the Universe instead!”
Another friend shared: “I had been having lots of nightmares about my abusive ex-boyfriend since he left several years ago and after learning about Afformations I began stating ‘Why am I having such good dreams’. I’m happy to report that in my dream last night I broke up with him, after which he thanked me and left–what a wonderful shift–no drama–I’m very grateful!”
I challenge you to give it a try–in fact have fun with it–who doesn’t want a better quality of life, right?
Once you’ve developed your Afformation(s), it’s helpful to write down the ones that feel good and have strong energy so that you can keep repeating them (aloud or silently) frequently. Writing them on sticky notes as reminders is one option or printing them on a sheet of paper or in a journal for review are others.
Sharing this method with friends, family and colleagues will make it that much harder to go back to the old, disempowering way of thinking.
And speaking of sharing–what’s next for Noah is teaching 20 million people how to use Afformations by the year 2020. It’s an ambitious goal, and that’s why he’s inviting everyone to read “Affirmations”, share it with friends—both in person and through social media—and join The Afformations Revolution. The world needs more positivity!
Warriors, why do we take better responsibility and control of our holistic selves when we use Afformations?
