We are definitely not a one-size-fits-all regarding our holistic (mind, body or spirit) selves even though many wellness and religious enthusiasts boast differently. What a challenge finding our place on this holistic path to wellness–and that’s my intention in writing my book and this biweekly column– exploring potential holistic wellness options.
I totally get that it’s easy to get frustrated and discouraged when it takes longer than we’d like to find helpful, healthful, wellness solutions–and as we age it seems to become even more challenging. However, we need to keep the faith that we will find answers to help ourselves with a better quality of life on this earthly journey.
Seemingly faith is significantly lacking here on earth–even when people believe in God, a higher power, so many lose faith that they can recover from illness(es). It’s totally understandable when crazy negative things happen in this world.
However, when a person doesn’t believe in the good of the world, it can cause us to behave carelessly– forgetting that we have been afforded an incredibly complex, but wonderful body that generally has the ability to heal itself once given the right tools.
Having been raised on a dairy farm, my father was quite the naturalist–Bag Balm and horse liniment worked wonders for many issues with visits to a chiropractor first for other health concerns. Otherwise, Mom would make catnip tea to soothe a stomach ache or a dose of castor oil (yum). At the age of 8, I was taken to a farmer who knew reflexology (treating foot pressure points) for my frequent unexplained nosebleeds–that took care of that deal (yippy). I recall the only time we had booze in the house was when Dad learned from another farmer that eating several raisins soaked in Gin daily was good for joint pain. Obviously, I learned quite early about the benefits of treating health issues natural and allowing the body to essentially heal itself and having faith along the way that we would be guided to the right solution. I have much gratitude for that upbringing.
However, as Dad aged, he received a diagnosis of Type II Diabetes and later heart issues evolved. Admittedly, once on, he had challenges getting off that traditional medical merry go round even though he continued whatever he could support himself naturally otherwise. His spirit and faith carried him far.
Having had a nursing career in the traditional medical world I can certainly admit there are times when traditional treatments/therapies might be necessary and we are grateful for that option! However, these days I prefer go natural as much as possible.
As I’ve matured, I can certainly attest to challenges finding natural treatment(s) for various issues that I have written about. My right knee challenge resulted from several previous injuries including a slip on some ice after my Yoga class last year (downward Sherry–not dog). Since an MRI and Xray showed no surgical recommendations–only steroidal injections, I chose to work with other wellness therapies: 6 months of physical therapy, yoga, acupuncture, massage, chiropractic therapy/treatment, energy work, supplementation, CBD oil (which I’ll be writing about soon), emotional release, and now Afformations. Now that my knee is feeling better (huge yippee)to what do I attribute my improvement? I’m giving credit to The Divine for putting these wellness options onto my path.
Recently I was excited to learn from one of my trusted healer providers about a wellness resource/book titled Medical Medium by Anthony William. This #1 New York Times best-selling author was born with the unique ability to converse with a high-level Spirit who provides him with extraordinarily accurate health information that’s often far ahead of its time.
His accuracy and success rate as the ‘Medical Medium’ have earned him the trust and love of millions worldwide, who couldn’t find a way to heal until he provided them with insights from Spirit. Anthony has also become an invaluable resource to doctors who need help solving their most difficult cases.
So many folks are struggling with their health one way or another–so I offer this author as another resource. Warriors–let’s hold dear our faith in our searching process. Progress not perfection!
