Heart Prints

In keeping with Valentine’s Day, I want to share a short, lovely guided meditation on Insight Timer by an unknown author titled “Heart Prints”:

“Whatever our hands touch we leave fingerprints–on walls, on furniture, on door knobs, dishes, books–there is no escape. As we touch, we leave our identity.
:Wherever we go today, let’s leave heart prints. Heart prints of compassion, understanding, and love. Heart prints of kindness and genuine concern.
“May our heart touch a lonely neighbor or a runaway daughter, or an anxious mother or perhaps an aged grandfather.’
“Let’s go out today to leave heart prints and if someone should say ‘I felt your touch” may they also sense the love that is deep within our heart.

And in keeping with our love theme, the following is a love poem about life by friend Dianne Hendricks:

Each Sticky Drop

Enjoy the sweetness of
Each day-
Savor the honey of it.
Behold the moments lingering-
Slowly spreading
Across mind and heart,
As across your tongue.
When consumed in fire, raging winds,
Or swept in flood-
Turn, and
Fiercely hold
Each sticky drop.

Covid Humor: A side effect of quarantine is it’s really hard to end phone calls. Twice today I almost said “Ok, I have to run” before realizing there is nowhere to run to.

Let’s continue to show our love for each other by wearing our masks, Warriors.
