What’s not to love about fun and love–they’re always in season–especially when it comes to Valentine’s Day–however, truth be told, it’s not always easy to practice love and compassion for oneself–so we need to continue to work on developing this jewel. Even though it’s easy to feel that self love is a selfish concept and practice, it’s important to keep in mind that self-love is totally not selfish, in fact, we cannot truly love another until we know how to love ourselves.
In keeping with this, I have found some inspiring quotes on a site called “The Goal Chaser” that help remind us that self love is important, and is a great way to keep the importance of it at the forefront of our mind all year round, not just on Valentine Day. .
In truth, things are always lighter, brighter and more positive if we’re able to work on our personal development AND have a little laugh along the way! Enjoy!

I found this beautiful self-love meditation by Thich Nhat Hanh, one of the best known Zen teachers in the world who recently passed away, said this about loving-kindness.
May I be peaceful, happy, light in body and spirit.
May I be safe and free from injury.
May I be free from anger, afflictions, fear and anxiety.
May I learn to look at myself with the eyes of understanding and love
May I be able to recognize and touch the seeds of joy and happiness in myself.
May I learn to identify and see the sources of anger, craving and delusion in myself.
May I know how to nourish the seeds of joy in myself every day.
May I be able to live fresh, solid and free.
May I be free from attachment and aversion, but not be indifferent.
As we cultivate a meditation and loving-kindness practice, the invitation is to turn towards our own heart, where words aren’t necessary, where love lives and where there is limitless permission to feel love for ourselves and for others.
Let’s be lovingly gentle with ourselves, Warriors!
