Tap Into This Holistic Wellness Option

Several years ago, while living in Colorado Springs, I briefly learned about a wellness option one of my friend’s husband, Michael Galvin, PhD psychologist was using in his practice–EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique). He continues to lecture this option across country due to the impressive results he has experiencing versus traditional therapies.

However, admittedly, I didn’t pay much attention at the time and have recently been more fully introduced through a book titled “The Tapping Solution” by Nick Ortner. Isn’t it interesting how God/the Universe put things into our lives when we least expect and/or need them most? This time, I’ve been admittedly awestruck by the potential this holds for anyone looking for further wellness options that address root causes–what an excellent example of the mind/body connection and what’s possible.

The Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) is the psychological acupressure technique routinely used in non-traditional practice and is highly recommended to optimize our emotional health. Although it’s still often overlooked, emotional health is absolutely essential to our physical health and healing–no matter how devoted we are to the proper diet and lifestyle, experts believe that we’ll not achieve our body’s ideal healing and preventative powers if emotional barriers stand in our way.

EFT is very easy to learn, and will help:
– Remove Negative Emotions
– Reduce Food Cravings
– Reduce or Eliminate Pain
– Implement Positive Goals

Psychological acupressure is based on the same energy meridians used in traditional acupuncture to treat physical and emotional ailments for over 5,000 years, but without needles. Instead, simple tapping with the fingertips is used to input kinetic energy onto specific meridians on the head and chest while we think about our specific concern–whether it’s a traumatic event, an addiction, pain, etc.–while voicing positive affirmations.
This combination of tapping the energy meridians and voicing positive affirmation works to clear the “short-circuit”–the emotional block–from our body’s bioenergy system–restoring our mind and body’s balance, which is essential for optimal wellness and healing.

We’ve all heard of PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) in relation to our soldiers response to challenging war-related experiences–I feel we all suffer from this PTSD–from small to larger extents–in fact, it becomes part of our DNA until cleared.

For example, ever since finding a dead mouse carcass in one of our board games on the farm, I’ve been fearful of mice–one of my PTSDs. Bet you can think of a few yourself.

In addition, being dealt a particular diagnosis can seemingly become part of our DNA as well– especially if we have been told by a provider that we’ll have to live with it for the rest of our lives and that there’s no cure. It actually becomes part of our identity. We’re no longer ourselves, we’re no longer our hopes, dreams goals and desires. Instead, we become the pain and/or diagnosis–we are ruled by everything wrong with us versus everything that is right.

Some people are initially wary of these principles that EFT is based on–the electromagnetic energy that flows through the body and regulates our health is only recently becoming recognized in the West.
One provider writes: “more than any traditional or alternative method I have used or researched, EFT works. I have witnessed amazing results in my patients since deciding to use EFT exclusively since 2001.” Indeed, because of its very high rate of success, the use of EFT has spread rapidly, and medical practitioners employing EFT can now be found in every corner of the country and the world. However, the beauty of it is that it can be quickly and easily learned by any of us.

There are numerous resources available online and The Tapping Solution offers affirmation script samples as well as many examples of improvements experienced by a wide range of people and conditions.
We are complex souls sportfans–so let’s do whatever we can to get to the root of our issues.
Admittedly, I have become quite the tapping fool–from mice to my GERD and knee issues. I’m pleased to report, many improvements including better sleep since my tapping began. Some concerns may clear quickly, while others need further emotional digging since we are complex souls, however, it’s worth the time and patients–just keep tapping, Warriors!
